Avril Lavigne stars in the new comic, "Avril Lavigne's Make 5 Wishes."



The comic, from Del Rey Manga, will hit stores on Tuesday and portray's Lavigne as the imaginary best friend of a teenager who hates her parents and compares her social life at school to a fly banging against a windowpane, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

Lavigne is a character and creative consultant for the manga series. Avril said she decided to step into comics after noticing the backpacks of her fans. "I know that many of my fans read manga, and I'm really excited to be involved in creating stories I know they will enjoy," she said.
